The Eastern Express is Now a Part of Tourism
In order to meet the increasing demand of the passengers, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism launched the first expedition of the 'Tourist Orient Express Train' at the Ankara Station.
Travelling more than a day in nature, the Eastern Express has increased demands for passengers in recent years. The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism set up a touristic trip for Eastern Orient express between Ankara and Kars for the purpose of meeting the demands. The train will be operated from Ankara on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 19:55; from Kars on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 23:55.
A Capacity of 120 People
Touristic Eastern Express consists of 9 wagons, 2 for service, 1 for dining and 6 for beds. The train, which is a sleeper train, can serve up to 120 passengers. The ticket price is 400 ₺ if one person is travelling in one room and 250 ₺ per person if two people are travelling.
